For my project I have decided to use the theme ‘Excerpt’ which means ‘A passage or segment taken from a longer work, such as a literary or musical composition, a document, or a film.’ I intend to create a short animated film by the end of the course year.
I thought the best idea would be to use an existing piece of work rather than write my own, also that it should be a script as it cuts out scripting and other things. I wanted a script that had a large section in it with no talking, a lot of action and had to be a film I have never seen, so’s not to be influenced by it. The best script I could find that was both interesting and fit the criteria was from the film Dragon Slayer. I am also going to create the characters and scenery designs based just on the information given in the extract and at the end of the year compare it to the original film and see how closely they match.
